Here you will find common questions and answers about our accommodation, what is included, and what you need to bring. We look forward to your visit, whether you are taking a course, enjoying the surroundings, or just visiting the shop.
Is accommodation included in the course?
Accommodation is included in all our two-day courses
Sauna and the hot tub are also included in all two-day courses
Can you rent accommodation if you are not attending a course?
It is possible to stay overnight at a cost of 500 SEK per night.
If you also want to use the sauna and the hot tub, it is possible if you stay overnight.
What is included in the accommodation
Pillow and duvet (bring a sleeping bag or sheets and pillowcase)

What you need to bring
Sleeping bag or sheets and pillowcase (if you stay overnight)
Swimwear and towel
Thermal underwear top/bottom. Preferably several tops
Neoprene shoes, sneakers, or sports sandals
Neoprene gloves (can be nice if it is cold, in spring and autumn)
Straps for glasses or extra contact lenses
Water bottle
Sunscreen
Breakfast, dinner (we often eat lunch out)
Note: You get a 20% discount on neoprene shoes, gloves, and hats in our shop.
In connection with the courses, we provide accommodation with hostel standard. We have two dormitories with beds (these are scattered to maintain a safe distance). Accommodation is included in the course fee and you do not need to book it in advance, but please let us know if you choose a different accommodation. In the course yard, there are toilets and a fully equipped kitchen. Bring your own pillow and bed linen to minimize the risk of infection. Feel free to arrive the evening before the course starts. When you arrive, enter through the door on the veranda, bed spaces are on two levels. Settle in and make yourself at home.
If you want your own room and a more comfortable stay, we recommend one of the options below. You can also camp on the lawn in front of the course yard.
Times: on your booking confirmation, you will find the times for the course.
If possible, after discussion, we can adjust the times to finish the course slightly earlier to facilitate the journey home, for example.
When you arrive at our activity center
If you arrive the evening before the course starts, there may not always be someone there to welcome you, but just come in and make yourself at home. On the right side of the gravel path in the large building is the course accommodation – enter through the glass doors on the veranda. If you arrive late at night, please be aware that others may already be sleeping inside.

We keep the store open from 08.00-17.00 on weekdays and sometimes also on Saturdays. Here you as a course participant can shop at a discounted price.
10% discount on kayaks and accessories
20% discount on neoprene shoes, gloves, hats, and nose clips (nose clip can be helpful if you find it difficult to get water in your nose – when we practice Eskimo rolls for example).
If you have chosen to buy a kayak before the course, we are happy to help set it up so that you can use it during the course.
Restaurant and Grocery Store
You prepare breakfast yourself at the course center, as well as dinner. We have lunch at one of our nice local restaurants. During the second day of the course, we are sometimes far away from the course center and then we usually have lunch at a restaurant in the neighboring village of Björbo. Your instructor will discuss meal planning with you at the beginning of day 1.
In the village, there is a well-stocked Ica store, about 1.5 km from Kajaktiv, which is open from 07:00-20:00 on weekdays and from 09:00-20:00 on weekends.

Dala-Floda is located along E16 between Borlänge and Vansbro. There is a sign saying “Kajaktiv” by the main road.
Turn towards the river and follow Lissforsvägen for about 500 m.
We are located on the left side.
By car from Stockholm, it takes about 3 hours and from Gothenburg about 5 ½ hours.
