Brass Monkey means “Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey”. An expression used in English in cold weather.
Last year’s event was a great success and brought the whitewater paddling community together after a long winter at the Sweden Whitewater Paddling Center in Dala-Floda. So now we are repeating it a week later than last year. This year, we are keeping it simple by letting people organize their own paddling groups with support for transportation from us at Kajaktiv and a barbecue evening on Saturday.
- Date: 3-5 May (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).
- Price: 490 SEK per person for tent or lodging for two nights (max 14 beds). You only pay for accommodation, spa & sauna, plus BBQ on Saturday evening.
- Participating without accommodation is free, and BBQ costs 90 SEK, spa and sauna 100 SEK.
- 10-15% discount in the store during the weekend.
Demo kayaks and packrafts:
Throughout the weekend, you are warmly welcome to test paddle Kajaktiv’s demo whitewater kayaks from Waka, Prijon, Exo, and Liquidlogic.
Program Saturday:
- 18:00 We will do our best to find a movie to show in the clubhouse.
- 19:00 Barbecue evening
- 20:00 Sauna and spa evening for registered guests. 100 SEK for non-registered guests.
Valborg tip:
We highly recommend everyone to go to Strandbackens Folkpark in Dala-Floda to enjoy the May bonfire, music, and Valborg celebrations – A tradition long established here in Dala-Floda where people dress up as scary creatures and prizes are awarded. There is usually also a party at Beach Pub in Folkparken in the evening.
