For those of you who are considering buying a kayak/or have just bought your first kayak. Join us at Kajaktiv for a thorough introduction to long-distance paddling where we go through different types of kayaks, how to easily get out on the water, and basic paddling techniques. During a paddle downstream from Lissfors, you will practice your newly acquired knowledge. After the paddle, we finish with coffee.
This introduction is suitable for those curious about paddling, regardless of whether you are young or old. You will have the opportunity to try different types of kayaks to get a feel for which type suits you, something that will be helpful whether you are considering buying or renting a kayak in the future. You will also receive a 10% discount in our store.
For those who also want to try whitewater paddling, we have a wide range of whitewater paddling courses.

About our instructors
Our instructors all have extensive experience and stay up to date with the latest in training, first aid, and safety. But perhaps most importantly, their enthusiasm for whitewater paddling and the opportunity to introduce others to this world. Some of our instructors started their paddling careers here with us many years ago. Maybe it will be the same for you.
Find us at Kajaktiv
Kajaktiv is located in the heart of Dalarna, about three hours by car from Stockholm and five hours from Gothenburg. For those coming from further away, we can offer overnight accommodation in our course housing. You can also set up a tent next to our facility if you wish.
Train and bus connections
You can take the train to Borlänge or Djurås from most major cities in Sweden. From there, you can take a bus to Dala-Floda. You can also contact us for possible options to be picked up in Djurås.
More than just paddling
We highly recommend that you bring your mountain bike, running shoes, or hiking boots. Here you will find great trails for both cycling, running, and hiking, and our staff are happy to share their favorites. The village is also worth exploring if you have time, and directly adjacent to it you have Lake Flosjön which invites you for a swim. You can rent a kayak for the day if you want to explore the lake with its beautiful beaches and swimming opportunities.
